Housecall Pro vs Jobber comes down to team size and trade. As of November 2026, Jobber is cheaper for one user ($29 against $59 a month billed annually) and both list $149 a month for five users. Housecall Pro packs a price book and job costing into its entry plan. Jobber puts more into quoting and client follow-up.
All prices here come from Jobber's pricing page and Housecall Pro's pricing page, read in November 2026. Both run promotions and both change prices, so check on the day you sign. Below: the price at every team size, what each plan actually includes, the fees outside the plan, how ServiceTitan compares to each, and a straight answer on which one to trial first.
Housecall Pro vs Jobber pricing at a glance
| Plan | Users included | Billed annually (per month) | Billed monthly |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jobber Core | 1 | $29 | $49 |
| Jobber Connect | 1 / 5 / 10 / 15 | $99 / $149 / $229 / $299 | $139 / $199 / $299 / $399 |
| Jobber Grow | 1 / 5 / 10 / 15 | $149 / $229 / $299 / $399 | $199 / $299 / $399 / $499 |
| Jobber Plus | 5 / 10 / 15 | $399 / $449 / $529 | $499 / $599 / $699 |
| Housecall Pro Basic | 1 | $59 | $79 |
| Housecall Pro Essentials | 5 | $149 | $189 |
| Housecall Pro Max | 8, then $35 per extra user | $299 | $329 |
As of November 2026. Jobber also offers a middle option, monthly with a one-year commitment, priced between the two columns above. Jobber lists extra users at $29 a month. Housecall Pro lists extra users at $35 a month on Max and shows no extra-user price for Basic or Essentials. Housecall Pro was also showing first-month promotions ($26 for the first month on Basic and Essentials, $99 a month for three months on Max), which change the first bill but not the ongoing one.
What does each cost at your team size?
Headline prices hide the real comparison. Here is what each tool costs, billed annually, at common crew sizes. Where Housecall Pro needs extra users on Max, we added $35 per user ourselves from the listed fee, so confirm the figure with Housecall Pro.
| Team size | Jobber (cheapest plan, then Grow) | Housecall Pro |
|---|---|---|
| 1 user | Core $29, Grow $149 | Basic $59 |
| 5 users | Connect $149, Grow $229 | Essentials $149 |
| 8 users | Connect $229, Grow $299 (10-user tier) | Max $299 |
| 10 users | Connect $229, Grow $299 | Max $369 (8 users + 2 at $35) |
| 15 users | Connect $299, Grow $399 | Max $544 (8 users + 7 at $35) |
Two things stand out. First, Jobber is the same price or cheaper at every size on its lower plans. Second, the plans are not equal: Housecall Pro Basic already includes job costing and a price book, which Jobber only adds on Grow (job costing) and doesn't list on its pricing page at all (price book). So for a five-person crew that needs job costing, the real comparison is Jobber Grow at $229 against Housecall Pro Essentials at $149, and Housecall Pro is cheaper.

Payment fees and contracts
Card fees often cost more than the subscription, so compare them too.
- Jobber: 2.9% plus 30 cents for cards, 2.7% plus 30 cents for Tap to Pay, 1% for US bank payments, and an additional 1% for instant payouts, the same on every plan.
- Housecall Pro: card processing rates starting at 2.59%, 1% for bank payments, and no fee for checks deposited through the mobile app. "Starting at" means your rate may be higher, so ask for your actual rate in writing.
On contracts, Jobber lets you pay monthly with no commitment, monthly with a one-year commitment, or annually. Housecall Pro says no long-term contract is required, upgrades take effect immediately, and downgrades take effect at the end of the billing period.
When Jobber is the better choice
- You are a solo operator or a crew of two to five and want the lowest monthly bill.
- Your work is quoted, often with options, such as lawn, landscaping, cleaning, painting or handyman work. Jobber's Grow plan adds quotes with photos, reviews and optional upsell lines.
- You want automatic quote and invoice follow-ups without paying for the top plan.
- You want two-way texting with clients inside the job record.
When Housecall Pro is the better choice
- You sell from a price book or flat-rate menu, which is common in HVAC, plumbing and electrical service work.
- You need job costing on a small team without paying for a higher tier.
- You run maintenance agreements and need recurring service plans (on Max).
- You want employee GPS tracking and routes in the middle tier.
- You plan to connect other software through an open API (on Max).
Who each one fits and who it doesn't
| Situation | Better fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Solo, mostly quoted residential work | Jobber Core | $29 a month billed annually, the lowest published entry price here |
| Five-person HVAC or plumbing crew selling from a price book | Housecall Pro Essentials | Price book, flat-rate pricing, job costing and QuickBooks Online sync at $149 |
| Five-person lawn or cleaning crew on repeat visits | Jobber Connect or Grow | Automated follow-ups and client reminders; Grow adds texting and job costing |
| Eight to ten users running maintenance agreements | Housecall Pro Max | Recurring service plans and route optimization are on Max |
| Ten to fifteen users with simple jobs | Jobber Connect or Grow | Cheaper than Housecall Pro Max once extra users are added |
| Twenty-plus technicians with a call center | Neither, look at ServiceTitan | Both tools fit smaller teams better; see below |
ServiceTitan vs Housecall Pro and ServiceTitan vs Jobber
Many owners comparing Housecall Pro and Jobber also price ServiceTitan. It is a different kind of purchase.
- No published prices. ServiceTitan's pricing page lists three packages (Starter, Essentials and The Works) and says pricing is per technician, but every plan says "Request Pricing."
- Built for bigger shops. ServiceTitan's annual report for fiscal 2026 counts about 10,800 Active Customers, which it defines as customers with more than $10,000 of annualized billings, and says they represent over 97% of its annualized billings. Its filing also says pricing is partly based on the number of technicians a customer employs.
- Reported costs are much higher. Third-party write-ups such as ToolEdUpPro report $245 to $500 per technician per month plus a one-time implementation fee. ServiceTitan doesn't confirm these, so treat them as a reason to get a written quote, not as a price.
- More built in for call-center trades. The Works lists call booking, pricebook, mobile estimates, payroll, advanced reporting, commission tracking and customizable memberships, plus Pro add-ons such as Marketing Pro, Contact Center Pro and an AI Virtual Agent.
Plainly: if you have fewer than about ten technicians and no dedicated call takers, Housecall Pro or Jobber will usually be the cheaper and faster setup. ServiceTitan starts to make sense when you have a dispatcher, a call center, memberships at volume and someone who will own the system.
How to test both before you buy
Both offer a 14-day trial with no credit card. Run them side by side on the same real work:
- Enter the same three customers and the same three jobs in each: one quick repair, one quoted job with options, and one repeat visit.
- Send the quote to your own phone and approve it as the customer would.
- Schedule it, send it to a tech's phone, and complete it in the field with photos.
- Send the invoice, take a test payment, and check how it lands in QuickBooks.
- Ask each vendor, in writing, for your card rate and what happens to your price when you add the next user.
Whichever one your office manager and your busiest tech prefer after that test is usually the right answer.
What neither does on its own
Both tools run fixed rules: the same reminder at the same time for every job. Neither decides which quiet estimate deserves a personal call this week, compares closed jobs against unpaid balances in QuickBooks every morning, or turns a missed call on an outside phone system into a booked job without someone typing it in. Our integration guides for Jobber, Housecall Pro and ServiceTitan cover what each one's built-in AI does and how an agent connects to it.
Where Cortex fits
Cortex doesn't resell either tool and isn't a partner of Jobber, Housecall Pro or ServiceTitan. We build AI agents inside the software you already run for trades like HVAC and plumbing. Each agent has one job and its own login with the least access it needs, and a person approves every message, payment and record change.
Pick your field service software first, on fit and price. Then, if there are gaps the software's own features don't cover, the free AI operations audit shows which ones are worth fixing.
